Event Information 

Distance: 40-50 km / 4.5-7 hrs

Disciplines: trail running / hiking, mountain biking, canopy ziplining, problem solving and other obstacle activities. Basic navigation skills required.

Team Format: Pairs.
Mixed & Same Sex Categories – U19, Open, & Masters Categories.

To determine your team category you need to combine the average age of both team members - i.e. both team members ages added together & divided by two. The average age total needs to be less than 19 to qualify for the U19 category, 19-39 yrs to qualify for open category, and 40 years or older to qualify for masters category.

We regret, no participants under 13 years. 13-14 years must be accompanied by an adult teammate.

Where: Karkloof Nature Reserve (KZN Midlands)

Start / Finish Venue: Bushwillow Park (22kms from Howick along the Karkloof/Rietlvlei Road)

Directions to Start Venue: From Howick, take the Karkloof/ Rietvlei Rd past the Karkloof Country Club until the tar rd becomes dirt (20.7km from Howick). Continue for a further 1.3km until you get to a sign for ‘Bushwillow Park’ on the left. Turn left here. Continue up the farm road for approx 1km – farm rd ends at the start/finish venue.

Accommodation: Self catering cottage + grassy camping sites with hot shower ablutions available at Bushwillow Park (R60/pp) – contact Irv Shaw on 072 2376247 or try the luxury self-contained units of Rockwood Forest Lodge: www.rockwood.co.za - contact Cindy on 031-3035162 for reservations.

Catering: Delicious takeaways (wors rolls, hamburgers etc) and hot & cold beverages (including full cash bar) provided all day. Catering provided by volunteers with proceeds going to the Karkloof Conservation Centre.

Entertainment: Big screen in club house to watch Currie Cup fixtures : Sharks vs Griqua's at 3pm and Western Province vs Lions at 5pm.

Registration & On the day Entries: 7-8.00am (On the day entries only avail if max quota of 75 teams is not reached - please check with event organiser before arriving on the day if you DO NOT have a pre-entry)
